Having had our fingers badly burned on the original UBER nasty version of Tythus Tinzok we retired to lick our wounds and to farm critical mitigation gear. Seems we did this for too long as Tythus has been well and truly whacked round the back of the head with the nerf bat! The new version is far more forgiving and we killed him first pull the other night. Not overly impressed with his loot table but he opens the way to the Clypse twins, Mynzak and the deity Anashti Sul. We sincerely hope Mythic Legion's roster issues lie well and truly behind us now and a concerted effort should see us rise once again to give Harpers and Ascend a run for their money.

Congratulations to Blackscorpion on being the first member of ML to drop the new Varsoon, however the first guild group to get him was successful on Saturday night. Charras, Dhiren, Othian, Krilia, Crystaliana and myself spent just over 7 hours in clearing the zone. Stun stun stun...

Having come quite close to getting him before, the Mythic Legion finally slays Switchmaster Zaxlyz. Congratulations everyone on a hard fought fight with the master of portals.

Having spent another few hours working on coordination of the Thet-am-aua fight we decided to head over to the Palace of the Ancient One. One dose of cryogenic magic and some full on DPS later and Xythus Aransta and Xythus Davian were slain.

The Mythic Legion would like to express its sincere gratitude to Heidielle, of the Fellowship, for the donation to our Art Gallery of the priceless EQ1 subscription painting entitled "Winged Glory". This ages old painting easily dates back to the days of the Age of Turmoil in Norrath.

It has been a massive effort on the part of the entire guild, involving an unfeasible quantity of time, patience, plat, status points and rare harvests but the Mythic Legion Guild Hall is now nearing a state of complete decoration. We have tried really hard to create themed rooms and gardens and to resist the urge to over-size things in an attempt to fill this huge space. We have drawn upon inspiration from our own homes, other guild halls (both on Runnyeye and elsewhere) and designs posted in the Norrathian Home Show on the official Everquest II forum. All of this mixed in with our own creativity has produced something we are proud of. A special mention to Xastia and Angbeleg, of Xanadu, who taught me that mahogany bookcases look so much nicer than the Cellus family ones that currently make up the library in my own home and to Zokkar of Mistmoore for the pool table idea. We hope you enjoy the tour and feel free to come visit us on the Runnyeye Server.
So the tour begins in The Garden of Tranquility - with seasonal pumpkins guarding the entrance.

On the right hand side of the Garden of Tranquility, within a glade of trees, lies Mythica's druid ring.

As you enter the glade there is a small pool off to the right.

The path turns to the left to reveal the druid ring - part of the hub of the Mythic Legion Norrathian transport system.

A view of the garden from the front elevation.

An arial view of Mythica's druid ring.

We assemble for raids in the Hall of Myth where Legionus facilitates rapid teleportation to our chosen raid target.

Guild finances are maintained at the First Mythic Bank.

We train our DPS in a room we call the Art of War.

Our knowledge and lore is stored in our Great Library on top of the Hall of Myth.

The Dining Hall serves sumptuous meals.

Prepared in our exquisitely appointed kitchen.

The Mythic Legion gaurds are comfortably quartered in our barracks.

We relax in our bar, where members can enjoy fine wines and beers from around Norrath, whilst playing a game of pool, poker or chess. The Legion's troubadours and dirges put on nightly performances of musical tales of our dragon slaying exploits.

We also have an aquarium...

... and a collection of fine art gathered from all four corners of Norrath, with many pieces dating back to the time before the Shattering. We are extremely keen to try to complete this collection and would be delighted to hear from anyone who may have a /claim painting dating back to the early days of Norrath in EQ1. These rare paintings were given to any account that had a subscription to the original Everquest or that gained one via Station Access. Please contact Lyssia / Ellixia if you think you can help us. We will of course provide full acknowledgement to anyone outside of ML who is able to help us and will consider payment for any such artwork.

Finally we contemplate our place in the Universe within our Chapels of Good

and Evil

This concludes the tour - there are more things to see in the Guild Hall itself, not least of all our Theatre and our Hall of Artisans, but for that you will need to come visit us off the shores of Qeynos on the Runnyeye server.
We have been battling with Trakanon for some considerable time now but last night we got him to 27% and so we knew a kill was on the cards this evening. We zoned into Trakanon's lair in good spirits but although our first few pulls went well we never really scaled the heights of the previous night. We suffered from really bad luck in terms of who got hit by mark of repulsion and every pull was let down by a few too many careless deaths. This of course heals the MOB and reduced DPS. So we bit the lava...
With one hour of our raid left we got off to another evil start, with one of our MT healers, Othian, being marked early on, but then suddenly everything seemed to click into place. The DPS was flowing and Trak's health was beginning to seriously fall - we were managing to deny the lava its regular flame and go KB Whoppers. Then Catclaw (along with her group nox cures) went LD and I honestly feared the worst. I was just waiting for group four to implode and the dragon's health to go screaming back up... But it just never happened. Group four held it together beautifully and everyone that got mark of repulsion reacted promptly and kept the raid safe. We just kept on burning and Trak's health kept falling. Below you see an image of Trak in the red, just as he let rip with a tail swipe!

As soon as Trakanon hit the red we opened up with pretty much every potion, spell, God spell and trick we could think of to pour DPS into him and he finally went down! It really is a fantastic feeling to put down a MOB that you have been working on for such a long time. Just before looting the chest we took some photos of the kill.

Sadly, the stupid dragon didn't exactly die in the most photogenic of poses - you just can't get the winged lizards these days! If you look carefully you can just about see his teeth in the photo above on the left.

SO a huge thanks to everyone who has put countless hours, and plat, into killing this thing. Especially to Charras who spent 110 pulls practicing to get the sweet spot one evening. Also to Sneakly, who sadly had to give up his place in the raid, two pulls before we finally got him down, so he could go talk to Rallos Zek on the big white telephone... Now hopefully we can get Byzola down quickly.

Having been raiding for many years, we of the Mythic Legion see a lot of exquisite chests, but the truly exquisite ones come along exceptionally rarely... In this one we found a brilliant cut Sneakly of exceptional colour and clarity! Shame about the weight in carats but you only really get that with Bolites.

Kpul D'Vngur has been ousted and a new Maestro has come to the Shard of Hate! The Mythic Legion has slain the Maestro twice in two days for good measure. This is quite a fun fight requiring the MOB to be well and truly pinned down in order to avoid his raid busting AOEs. Healers must really be on the ball with cures and the hassle of being cursed frequently. The tanks have to work tirelessly to overcome his constant memwipes and the DPS, well has to behave itself! Having finally got all these ingredients into one workable mix the MOB went down relatively easily. Adding the Maestro to our farming rotation is great news because he drops some really cool loot. So we shall keep on clearing Veeshan's Peak and the Shard of Hate, up to the Maestro, for ever better gear whilst working on the big two: Trakanon and Byzola. I think we may well get Trakanon first. Still lots down - only two to go!

Another dead vampire!

After two months of working relentlessly on this MOB we finally got it. I really have no idea what made this MOB so tough for us but Nexona comfortably enters our Hall of Fame as the single most time consuming raid MOB to conquer. The image below shows a very tired and relieved Mythic Legion. Now its onwards and upwards for a raft of Mythical weapons. We shall be running some extra raids this week to try to progress as far as possible with this instance. These will start with todays raid at 7.00 pm.

Gratz to Jinxed and Chanah on their mythical weapons (images to come very shortly).

This evening we of the Mythic Legion finally put Druushk down. After getting him to 8% on our first pull we knew we were in business, and sure enough, on the next pull we killed him. Its funny but having achieved it, like most raid kills, you really do wonder why you found it so hard in the first place. My feeling is this one boils down, initially at least, to having the raid set up just so in order to drop him and that relies on good raid sign-up.

Congratulations to Lessing on getting his relic tonlets.

The second in a our series of MLookalikes sees another of our dirges, Boocado, as the mysterious Edward Nigma aka "The Riddler"

What is the beginning of eternity,
the end of time and space,
the beginning of every end
and the end of every race?
Last night we took a very strong raid line-up into Veehsan's Peak to get to grips with Druushk. The first few pulls did not go overly well but we slowly began to learn what was required and we eventually got him to 57% and then 47% which as the title suggests is really getting there. We pretty much have only more trick to master and need one more healer and I think Druushk will go down - Sunday will be the proof of that particular pudding. I can almost smell the mythical Ayonic Axe. Incidentally, I looked up the phrase "Oh Shit!" in my illustrated dictionary and the image below is what I found:

In a brand new feature for the Mythic Legion webpages we bring you - MLookalikes! First up is Adam "Teggles" Ant the well known 1980s UBER popstrel and dirge of the Mythic Legion.

Stand and deliver your money or your life!
Try and use a mirror no bullet or a knife!
And even though you fool your souls
Your conscience will be mine, all mine
Da diddley qa qa da diddley qa qa

Stand and deliver your money or your life!
Stand and deliver your money or your life!
Keep the MT alive and don't stand near the lava when the wurmlettes pop - pretty much all there is to this fight. Since we bound and gagged Fishhoek this time, there are images to enjoy. We then spent a fun three hours beginning to learn Druushk - quite a tough cookie with his disco light show and his legions of epic adds.

Alternatively called 24 get over excited! So we headed into Veeshan's Peak, with a surprisingly depleted raid force, but the people that replaced our regulars did brilliantly well and apart from the beginning of the raid, when everyone got just a little over excited, we kicked ass. Kluzen went down with little bother for our first named kill in the zone. Towards the end of the raid many of our healers and bards had to log but it didn't stop us putting in a decent performance against Elder Ekron and she is going down on Sunday guaranteed. Then we need to get busy with Druushk and Nexona. Sorry there is no picture of the fallen Kluzen but Fish thought he would stand in for Killeroy and his amazingly over-zealous corpse looting abilities! Still here is a picture of us all standing where Kluzen used to be.

After our Leviathan kill we needed to flag some more members for Veeshan's Peak. For this we needed a Venril Sathir kill and then a Leviathan kill. Owing to the recent buggy nature of Venril Sathir, that has proved to be some ridiculously hard feat, but we finally dropped the pointy fanged, scaley nightmare this evening. Congratulations to everyone for their patience and persistence. Tomorrow we go after the Leviathan again and then hopefully its onto Veeshan's Peak. :-)

First of all we headed to the Temple of Kor Sha to finish off Sunday night's farming trip by dropping the Overking. He went down without too many problems. We then trimmed the raid of people yet to be flagged and added some more nox group curing and headed over to the Leviathan. Having cleared the trash and got both crusaders, three druids and three nox curers in the raid we had high hopes.
Our first pulls did not go well owing to placement issues and gnomes not firing on all four cylinders, but we quickly rectified the problems. We now have a workable positioning strategy and no Leviathan can repel the firepower of the gnomish battle station. Great tanking, healing, curing and vial exploding saw the Leviathan edge slowly down towards 15% and suddenly it was my turn to leap into action... Armed only with my knowledge of tentacle sweep patterns and a bag of noxious cure potions off I went.
Suddenly, with the entire raid banking on me dealing with the orb, my feet seemed leaden. My desire to get there quickly saw me take severe damage from acid burns and I somewhat stupidly passed out just before reaching the orb. I knew the raid was still counting on me so I revived and set off again - this time with greater purpose. I got there and began to use the greenmist orb. To my total dismay the process actually has a far slower progress bar than I was hoping for and before I completed the task a lashing tentacle floored me. Now, consumed by panic that I was going to let the raid down, I revived once again and dashed round and, with extremely careful positioning, got the job done. It then seemed like only a matter of seconds till the Leviathan went down and I barely had chance to get a screen shot in time. Still the screenshots are shown below and we got some very nice loot - two excellent robes off the Leviathan.

So Mythic Legion becomes only the 6th guild on Runnyeye into Veeshan's Peak. Well done guys...
